The Times Good University Guide
The Times Good University Guide, has named Oxford as the top university for the ninth consecutive year. Oxford University also come first in The Independent’s Complete University Guide league table released in May 2010.
Oxford’s superior staffing levels, better graduate prospects, larger proportion of top degrees and higher spending on student facilities ensured that it retained the top position on The Times Good University Guide
In the subject tables, Oxford now leads in 12 subjects. It replaced Cambridge as the top university for English, law and Russian, while keeping its top ranking in economics, mathematics, medicine and philosophy.
Oxford leads the UK on external research income: figures released by HESA (the Higher Education Statistics Agency) earlier this year also showed that Oxford received more external research income (research grants and contracts) than any other UK university in 2008-09 with £337.5m, up 18.3% from the previous year.
