The best preparation is done when you are true to yourself and you are the best judge.

You say which book to refer this year.. i presume this is not your first attempt for the exam. Look at your past examinations, which method did work best for you?

I personally cannot study alone from a book, it's too monotonous. I need to go out see a real teacher or study with a bunch of friends. But that's just me.

Also, let me clear one thing. CAT is not from a book. It HAS a pattern but it cannot be gauged by studying just one book.

Keep in mind the following things for preparation. But again you should choose if they would work for you or not.
    1. Start early. - do not wait for the last 3-4 months to slog.
    2. Having a study group helps- peer pressure is the biggest motivater.
    3. Get a coaching - it keeps you consistent. Also, any coaching institute will do as long as you are determined to excel.
    4. SLOG - but don't forget to take time outs.

    Hope it helps.

it will be good if u can give some information about your educational back ground. For getting a good rank in CAT , coaching classes are essential. Time management will be your biggest benefit when you join such coaching classes.

    Hi All,

I had cleared CAT in 2007. I am studying in IIM-B.
Guys let me know if you have any doubts.
I would recommend you to join a coaching class if you have never joined.
Remember self study is very important. Especially in verbal section you would need to spend more time. I had joined TIME for my coaching.
I had used a software Verbal Master http://www.wblhome.com/Products.html for verbal preparation.

I found it very helpful. It really rocks!

    Regards,
    Charmy

    Hi,

I m preparing for CAT 2009.I wanted to join mock CAT test series for my preparation. I came across Snapwiz by chance .
They have 6 full length tests n these test pattern are identical to official CAT CBT.The reports r also good and they have project score. I found it very usefull for my preparation. If u r serious about CAT.. I highly recommend u to look at Snapwiz for CAT mock tests(http://www.snapwiz.co.in).They also have a promotional (code - SW100CAT)offer going on.
